A Little About Me
Lorin Morgan-Richards, of Amish ancestry, is a Los Angeles based author and illustrator of dark humored literature and composer of electronic storytelling. In 2009, Richards released his first book 'Simon Snootle and OTHER small stories' under his small press, A Raven Above Press, which specializes in handmade books.
Richards is currently working on a new illustrated novel 'The Goodbye Family' due out in 2010 along with his second anticipated book of short stories entitled 'A Boy Born from Mold'. Musically, Richards will be releasing a new EP 'Orpheus in the Underworld' in the new year.
In the past, Richards has opened for The Creatures, Front 242, Pyschotica, and Lycia. In 1999, Richards wrote, directed and produced Enki a modern dance performance and album based on Zecharia Sitchin's book The Twelfth Planet. Enki premiered in Cleveland, Ohio under the choreography of Michael Medcalf, and was co-produced by Valerie Stoneking. Richards wrote a second album in 2001 entitled An Occurrence Remembered based on the Civil War short stories of Ambrose Bierce. Following this, Richards produced and directed An Occurrence Remembered which premiered in New York City under the choreography of Nicole Cavaliere, and co-production of Valerie Stoneking. Two of the songs from the album were released in 2001 on Notes from thee Real Underground Vol.1. In 2002, Richards covered I'm Eighteen by Alice Cooper for the Underground Inc. Ankhor Records release of Mutations, a Tribute to Alice Cooper.
Richards is also actively involved in curating a collaborative film series in downtown Los Angeles: Bringing the Circle Together: A Native American Film Series. |
